Let’s light this place up

Since buying our building in 2019, Eucharist has been committed to the slow and steady work of revitalizing this sacred space for the next 125 years.

The most recent work to be done is replacing all the old windows in the back halland offices. They are currently in rough shape, and replacing them will not only make them look significantly better, but will make our building safer, more welcoming and brighter.

The Building Committee, with support from the Elders, has done extensive work in discerning the best path forward for the windows and recommended that the windows be restored and new storm windows constructed by a local woodworking company with expertise in the field. This approach is the most sustainable option, as we are keeping the existing windows out of the landfill, and keeping future materials out of the landfill, as replacement windows are typically replaced every 15-20 years. Additionally, restoring windows will maintain the building’s architectural character and integrity as we steward this resource that has been passed down to us from previous congregations. Lastly, adding a storm window to the exterior of the building will increase thermal efficiency, as many replacement windows claim to do.

Fundraising for this project took over two years and we are pleased to share that we have reached our fundraising goal of $50,000! Eucharist also received an interest-free loan of $40,000 from a neighbouring congregation!

We are so grateful for the generosity of our community and a neighbouring congregation and pleased to share that we have the $90,000 required to complete the entire project.

Work is set to begin in Fall 2023.

You can continue to support this project financially, by helping to pay down the $40,000 loan, by giving to Eucharist. After sending your gift please email finance@eucharistchurch.ca to earmark that it is specifically for the window project.
