Post-Easter Sermon Series: April 3 - May 8
Anyone else get really uncomfortable talking about God with people?
In our post-religion / post-modern / post-everything culture; talking about our faith can be a social death wish. We don't want to be ashamed of the gospel... but we don't want to seem like crazy people!
How do we talk about Jesus when his name has so often been hijacked by politicians and religious fundamentalists and people with angry agendas? How can we live, own, and share the good news with our family, neighbours and friends in a way that is organic, gracious, genuine, and actually sounds like good news?
Those are exactly the questions we'll be asking over the next six weeks!
We'll be talking about sharing the good news in word and deed, how to be a light in our workplaces / families / neighbourhoods, and how, at the end of the day, we have nothing to be embarrassed about, because this is really-actually-honestly good news!
The series will be lead by myself (Kevin) as well as some in the Preaching Guild, and special guest John Bowen (from the Wycliffe Seminary "Institute for Evangelism"... so he's super legit). It will also include Q&R times, and numerous every-day-witness stories from people in our congregation. If you have a story of witness gone good, gone bad, or a time someone witnessed to you (and it went good or bad) message firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll see if it can fit in!
This will be practical. Really practical. And hopefully fun!
Let it shine Brothers and Sisters. Let it shine!
