Everything Eastertide

Christ is risen! Eastertide is upon us, and with it, the signs of spring—longer days, warmer air, and the renewal of life all around. This season reminds us of God’s ongoing work of resurrection, in the world and in each of us.

Here are some upcoming ways to connect and participate in the life of the church. Note that all events are listed on our Eucharist Church Community Google Calendar.

Sunday Worship

  • Sunday worship begins at 10:30am and we recommend coming a little early to get settled

  • The service is about 90 minutes long, including a time of corporate singing, communal prayer, scripture reading, a sermon, and communion

  • There is both a nursery and a kids program that run alongside the service (please arrive early if you’re a new family hoping to have kids participating in either program)

  • You are welcome to come as you are (we really mean it)

Upcoming Classes & Workshops

Wednesday Night Discussions – “This Is the Church”

We’re in a sermon series called This Is the Church.

It’s about what Church is, the moment she’s in, and who we are trying to be as a congregation in the midst of it all.

Join us for two evening panel discussions shaped around this sermon series with diverse people from our congregation reflecting on their own thoughts and experiences about church life.

A reminder that if you miss a Sunday, you can always catch up on the Eucharist Church podcast (available wherever you get your podcasts, just search: “Eucharist Church”).

Wednesday May 14 & June 4, 7:30-9pm

"Christianity 101" (Also, Baptism Preparation Classes)

If you’re considering baptism, our preparation classes are beginning soon and will run for three weeks after Sunday services.

This is the starting point for exploring baptism or reaffirming faith. We encourage you to attend these classes even if you are uncertain about baptism/reaffirming faith: They will be a helpful tool for spiritual orientation, regardless of your next step.

Come as you are.

"Drawing Badly Goodly: The Wisdom of the Hand in Rediscovering Wonder" |

This 90-minute workshop hosted by Salt Cellar Arts and led by Scott Aasman. It explores the path back to creativity and wonder by revisiting our first language– the visual. Participants will engage in simple exercises designed to bypass the inner critic and embrace the uniqueness of their mark-making.

Blending personal stories, spiritual insights, and hands-on practice, the workshop welcomes both beginners and experienced artists. It’s a space to reconnect with creativity as a process rather than a product.

RSVP via saltcellararts@gmail.com; donations are welcome but not required.

Friday, May 23 at 7:30pm

Mid-Week Events

Tuesdays

After School Programming: Godly Play, Youth Bible Study, and Parent’s Circle

Our After School Programming is currently on pause but will start again on Tuesday May 6.

Godly Play aims to teach the basics of the biblical story in an interactive and playful way. It is hosted by our Kid’s Coordinator Tash Crozier and some volunteer counsellors. Godly Play is designed for kids from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 4.

Kids in Grade 4 can decide to stay in Godly Play or try “moving up” to Youth Bible Study.

Youth Bible Study is a space to dig deeper into our faith, play games, and learn about being God’s people. It is hosted by Pastor Kevin and some volunteer counsellors. YBS is aimed for youth in Grades 5-8 (Grade 4 are welcome to join if able).

Parental Conversations are an open space for parents to talk about what it means to raise kids in the way of Christ. It runs at the same time as GP and YBS and is hosted by Pastor-Emeritus Jill Trites.

Email Tash about Godly Play and Kevin about Youth Bible Study if you are interested in registering your child.

Wednesdays

Morning Prayer: Learning to Pray Together

A simple liturgy, based off the book of Common Prayer, for those who would like to seek God early in the morning.

This prayer time is part of the ecumenical prayer network The Community of Common Prayer.

Wednesdays, 6:30-7am

Compline: Psalms and Silence to Complete the Day

We gather in darkness to chant psalms and sit in silence. This service can be as anonymous as you want, though it’s a very accessible way to enter into chanting (you sort of learn as you go, but we use very simple tones)

Click here for an example of how this Psalter sounds when chanted (but our services are… darker).

Enter in stillness. Sit where you want. Pray as you’re able.

Wednesdays, 9-10pm

Thursdays

Co-working at Eucharist

Every Thursday the Eucharist sanctuary will be open for hanging out, co-working, book reading, and coffee sharing. Bring whatever you’re working on and whoever you want to hang out with.

Open Building, Thursdays 10-4pm
Eucharist Sanctuary, 130 Victoria Ave N

Summer Job Posting: Graphic Design Artist

Eucharist Church is looking for a passionate, creative, high-capacity graphic designer to work in a congregational setting for the summer. This is a unique position requiring a person who is able to create beautiful, clear and effective graphic design work and engage in theological and spiritual reflection.

The Graphic Design Artist will collaborate with the Eucharist Church pastors to produce high quality graphic design projects, meet with other artists in the congregation to reflect on the role of art in faith, and occasionally attend our Sunday morning worship service throughout the summer.

Join a Committee:

Building Committee | Looking for new members
We’re recruiting a new building committee to help us steward and plan for the bright and beautiful future of our beautiful 130-year old building.

This "project management" team will oversee upcoming capital projects and maintain the building as it stands. If you’re interested in participating in the life of our church in this way, email Nina at nina@eucharistchurch.ca.

Extending the Table | Looking for new members
Extending the Table is Eucharist’s “Mission Committee” and they are looking for new members. They administrate, pray, and talk about supporting our missional partners and activities here at the church.

Our current missional partners are: 541 Eatery and Exchange, 541 Youth Groups, Indwell, IAFR Open Homes, and newly partnered – Act Five. They also organize under broader topic areas such as Indigenous Reconciliation, and Refugees. Please reach out extendingthetable@eucharistchurch.ca if this interests you!

Connect on Facebook

If you consider Eucharist your church home, we invite you to join our Congregational Facebook group, where people share prayer requests, news from the city, and all sorts of other goodness. We recommend intentionally checking it every few days. Don’t rely on notifications as they are pretty inconsistent.

Click here to be added to the Facebook group.

If you don’t have a Facebook account but would like to use our guest account, click here for more details.

Give Online

We are so grateful for those who are a part of our church and give faithfully to God’s work among us.
